I work primarily in glass - both stained glass, kiln fused, slumped, and a combination of all. I also enjoy drawing, painting, and pastels, depending on my mood.
I grew up in North Alabama and graduated from the University of Alabama with a degree in Chemical Engineering. I have ALWAYS enjoyed the creativity of art and now that my children are grown, have the time and energy to pursue it.
I took private and university art classes for several years, but started learning about glass art six years ago. I am principally a glass artist – I love working with various forms of glass to make beautiful pieces of art. My pieces are created in three different ways - first and most familiar to people is cold working, which is stained glass. I also make mosaics using found pieces, glass, fused glass pieces, and/or glass tiles."
In addition to creating pieces that hold interest to me, I welcome mutually agreeable commissions to create a piece that fits your desire and location. The piece to the left is one I created for my submarine officer husband.
I also teach glass working techniques for beginner to intermediate levels.
